About the G310C000

The backlight of this model is a CCFL backlight, which has a lifetime of 50,000 hours at full brightness; the brightness of the model can be turned down through the Crimson 2.0 software, which can improve and extend the lifetime of the backlight. Please note that if your backlight fails or goes out on the G310C000 panel, it cannot be replaced in the field if located within a hazardous location; if located in a non-hazardous environment, the light is field replaceable. 

One thing that should be noted concerning the G310C000 model is that there is a chassis ground terminal located on the rear of the model, and is highly recommended that it be connected to protective earth. The signal common and chassis grounds are not connected to the unit. Isolation between the signal common and the earth ground is not required to operate the unit but is recommended. If connecting this model to any other equipment types it is highly recommended that those pieces are isolated.

There are four versions of G310 operator interface terminals. How does the G310C000 differ from the remaining three G310 operator interface terminals?

The G310C000 terminal is the most basic of the four G310 terminals. This terminal can only be used in indoor applications and has a textured finish and embossed keys. Another difference between the G310C000 terminal and the G310S000 model is the backlight type as well as the brightness. The backlight type for the G310C000 model is cold cathode fluorescent tubes (CCFL), while the G310S00 terminal uses a standard LED backlight. The brightness level for this model is 450 candelas per square meter, with the brightness level for the G310S000 model being 850 candelas per square meter.

The G310C000 terminal can communicate with a variety of hardware. How does this happen?

The way the G310C000 operator interface terminal communicates with the hardware through the ports on the module. The main communication ports on this unit are RS232/422/485 communication ports used for high-speed communication and the Ethernet 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX communications. Another feature of the G310C000 is the USB port which is used for quick downloads of files used for trends and data logs.
