About the G315C210
Designed by Red Lion, the G315C210 model is a 15" TFT XGA operator interface terminal only rated to be used indoors. One of the terminals on the rear of the G315C210 model is a chassis ground terminal. This terminal requires that the unit be connected to earth ground. There is a signal common on the model which will not be connected to the chassis ground; while most models require that the signal common and earth ground maintain some isolation, the terminals on this model do not require such. While the signal common and earth ground does not require isolation, other potentially connected components/equipment require isolation between the terminals. When external connections are made to the G315C210 model, caution must be taken.
Ethernet communications are available on the model; they are 10 Base-T or 100 Base-TX communication ports. The jack associated with either of these communications is an RJ45 jack that must be wired as a NIC or Network Interface Card. On the rear of the device, there is a distinct twelve-digit MAC address and a black which marks the unit with an IP address. For additional information regarding these Ethernet communications, refer to the Red Lion website or the attached Crimson manual. The attached Crimson manual can give more detail on all the protocols and configurations used with this HMI.
There is a backlight on the G315C210 model; this model has an LED backlight with a limited lifetime, and the lifetime for this model is fifty thousand hours. It should be noted that the lifetime is based on the quantity of time that the display is actually on and being used at full power; to help preserve the lifetime of the backlight, the display can be dimmed in low light conditions, and the backlight should be turned off when the screen is not in use.
