About the G3CN0000

The G3CN0000 model is known as a CANopen Option Card part of the G3 Series produced by Red Lion, precisely, this part is used as an optional expansion card for the G3 Operator Interface Terminals. It has a pluggable connector to connect the card to the chosen interface terminal. When the card has been linked to the interface terminal it will assist with the communication ports, which are typically seen as high-speed. The alternate part number of this unit is G3CN.

Before installing the G3CN0000 card which will go on the rear of the G3 interface terminal, extreme caution must be taken as the main and optional circuit boards contain acute status components and all of the static charges must be discarded from the user's body by touching an established bare metal object of some kind. When actually installing the option card in the rear of the terminal remove all of the input and output communication cables as well as all of the power. Connect all of the cablings from the option card to the primary board of the operator interface, and make sure that the cable ends are firmly seated into the appropriate connector housings to make sure that everything is stable.

There are five positions available with the G3CN0000 option card, the second position, which is described as CAN- will provide an active low line; the terminal will be isolated from the HMI unit itself.

There is a single LED available on the option card which will light up green when the G3CN0000 card has established communications with additional CANopen devices. If communication has not been established then the LED will be red and indicate an error.
