About the G3USBHC0
Typically option cards within the G3 Series of Option Cards can be connected to any of the operator interface terminals but the G3USBHC0 model was designed to only be used and attached to the G306A interface. It will install inside the interface after lifting up the rear cover and attaching the cable to the option card and the cable in the interface.
Another unique feature regarding this option card is that it requires a power supply that is independent of the G3 interface; the power supply is twenty-four volts of direct current. All of the needed wires must be jumpered from the main twenty-four-volt power supply of the G3 interface to the G3USBHC0 option card. Please note that the reason that these power connections are vital to the proper function is that they will prevent any ground loops from occurring.
When the option card has been installed on the back cover of the G306A interface there are three status LED colors that will become available. The three statuses are green, off, and red with unique descriptions for each. A green LED will indicate that the attached USB device has been configured, the LED being off indicates that no USB device has been connected, and a red LED indicates that the USB device is connected but has not been configured.
Whether operating or installing the G3USBHC0 option card the location of the model should be taken into consideration to ensure that no operating errors occur, any operating errors that occur can cause damage to the device and in some extreme cases can even cause the user to get hurt. Please note that disconnecting the equipment while the circuit is live or while ignitable concentrations are around can cause an explosion hazard.
