About the 9905-023
Introduction
The 9905-023 is a 2301A series model of load sharing and speed control by Woodward. This model is low-voltage, using a 20-40VDC power supply. This is also a reverse-acting model, where the actuator will call for more fuel as voltage signal decreases. The 9905-023 uses a single actuator with a current output signal of 0-400mA as opposed to the standard 0-200mA. This unit was designed for use in systems where gasoline engines, diesel engines, gas turbines, or steam turbines are driving generators.
Unit Features
The 9905-023 has isochronous and droop mode functionality, which allows you to choose the best method for your specific setup. This unit is capable of sensing loads via the 90-240VAC 3ø, 45-66Hz 3ø current transformer input. Speed is sensed through the magnetic pickup with a minimum voltage of 1VAC and a maximum of 30VAC. This speed sensing input has an impedance of 100-300 ohms.
System Speed Information
Choosing the correct speed range for your setup is imperative to ensuring safety and functionality of the 9905-023. This unit can be operated in any of four ranges: 500-1,500Hz, 1,000-3,000Hz, 2,000-6,000Hz, or 4,000-12,000Hz. The default setting for this speed range is 2,000-6,000Hz. The speed may be trimmed up to 10% by using an internally-adjustable potentiometer of 0-100 ohms.
