About the 9905-195
The 9905-195 control unit is a forward-acting model that operates on a supply voltage of 88-131 Vac or 90-150 Vdc; the speed set input on this unit is 4-20 mA, while the actuator current on this unit operates at 0-20 mA. The control is labeled as a full authority speed control in the 2301A Electronic Load Sharing and Speed Control series used for controlling mechanical loads for torque converter applications or split shaft gas turbines. As a full authority speed control, the 9905-195 unit can provide control in isochronous mode with a droop feature available when wired to an external potentiometer. The isochronous mode on the control helps control the speed at a constant on the prime mover.
Two controls from the same series can be used to operate the tail shaft or split shaft governors and are typically installed on the control panel. To prevent excess heat buildup of the control, the 9905-195 panel should be installed in a temperate range of negative forty to positive eighty-five degrees Celsius with plenty of ventilation.
With the 88-131 Vac or 90-150 Vdc, this indicates that the control panel is a high-voltage model. The high-voltage model must be installed away from other high-voltage, high-current devices that would allow interference through electromagnetics. As you are working with your high-voltage model, take caution that no wires are disconnected from the control while the prime mover is on; also note that the transformers attached to the control can develop extremely high voltages when open and the prime mover is being operated.
