About the 9905-794
Control unit 2301A series model 9905-794 is one of the many controls we offer from Woodward’s Load Sharing and Control series from our current surplus or our secondhand refurbished inventory. The 9905-794 unit is a forward-acting control operating as a low-voltage model in the range of 10-40 Vdc with an actuator current that runs at 0-20 mA.
When operating the control with a minimum fuel contact find where the actuator current is located and asses what the current is running at, if it falls under 20-160 mA then the minimum fuel should be lesser than 10mA, for controls with an actuator current in the 40-320 mA range the minimum fuel should be lesser than 20 mA, the currents described for minimum fuel are strictly for forward-acting control models such as this one.
The purpose of the start fuel limit potentiometer on this control is to provide a way to limit the position in which the fuel rack sits when starting engines that are of the diesel variety. When the potentiometer of the start fuel is set at the maximum actuator position that is the predominant position that it should be at, once speed control takes over the limit position is automatically disconnected.
If during operation the prime mover does not balance at the rated no-load speed the control may be erratic, if this is the case asses the external wires on the control to establish if they have been properly shielded, the external wiring on the control could need more shielding.
