About the 9907-016
AX Control INC purchases, sells, refurbishes, and repairs load sharing and speed controls manufactured by Woodward INC. The control unit 9907-016 is one of those models, the unit is conveniently made in forward-acting and reverse-acting models, this unit also conveniently comes in low-voltage or high-voltage models for your needs. When unpacking your control be sure that during transit it has not obtained any damage, damage to the frame of the control can cause the control to malfunction during operation of the control and prime mover, if damage has occurred and is not repaired it can lead to extensive personal injury and potentially death.
After you have unpacked your control and assessed for damage you can begin the installation. The control has nine potentiometers which need to be set so the prime mover will operate properly. Stable operation of the prime mover is vital to not cause injury, overheating, overspeeding and potential death. If your prime mover is running stable then you can begin to adjust the potentiometer for the rated speed so the prime mover can begin to operate at the optimal speed.
The reset and gain potentiometers on the control can also affect the speed of the prime mover, while adjusting the gain there are minor and temporary changes in the speed of the prime mover you can slowly turn the gain potentiometer to minimize the possible changes.
If while operating the prime mover it over speeds during the start-up the cause is likely the ramp adjustment, if it is the ramp adjustment you can increase the ramp time on the control, this will reduce the acceleration rate.
