About the 8273-501
The 8273-501 model from Woodward Inc. is designated as one of the 2301D Digital Load-sharing and Speed Control units. The 8273-501 is one of the models designed to be attached and mounted into an ordinary, non-hazardous location.
This 2301D model is designed with a microprocessor as the base component which renders the unit operational to complete its functionalities. This unit is outfitted with the standard hardware components, which include a load sensor, an actuator driver, one MPU Speed Sensor. There are also a pair of configurable, analog inputs, and configurable analog output. There are also a set of 8 discrete switch inputs (3 of which are configurable), and then 4 configurable discrete relay driver outputs.
The engine and generator speed needs to be synchronous, and within the range of 90 to 3600 rotations per minute. The frequency that is provided by the magnetic pickup needs to be in the range of 100 to 20,000 hertz at the rated speed. The communication ports available on the 8273-501 are the RS-232, RS-422, a 9-pin connector, as well as 1200 to 38,400 baud, at full-duplex.
The 8273-501 is installed with a unique algorithm that is able to enhance the speed controls transient responsive capabilities by using Load Pulse and Load Rejection logic applications. The standard power intake required is between 18 to 40 volts of direct current. This unit is covered by our automatic protective warranty.
