About the 8237-1278
723PLUS model 8237-1278 is a versatile Woodward DSLC/MSLC Gateway Control. Model 8237-1278 is the high-voltage version of this device, requiring 40 W of power and offering an acceptable input voltage range of 90 to 150 Vdc.
This unit uses a LON network to extract generator information from one MSLC and up to 14 DSLC units, at which time it is given a Modbus address for parameter monitoring via two serial ports that can interface with a HMI. Two separate Modbus devices can be used with this control. The two other serial ports on this gateway control can be set for RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 communications.
Accessories for this 723PLUS control are the Hand Held Programmer (part 9907-205 or 9905-292), Servlink/Watch Window (PC interface), and a DSLC (Digital Synchronizer and Load Control) and MSLC (Master Synchronizer and Load Control) system. For more information on the compatible accessories, including how to program the gateway with the Hand Held Programmer, see 723PLUS DSLC/MSLC Gateway Manual 02831.
723PLUS Digital Speed Control units require adequate ventilation to prevent overheating of the device. This gateway control requires operating temperatures in the range of –40 to +70 °C (–40 to +158 °F). The mounting location must also be protected from direct exposure to water (this includes condensation-prone environments), vibration, and other devices that may produce electromagnetic interference.
