About the 8280-1099
Part 8280-1099 is a control model in the Woodward 723PLUS series. This model is the 723PLUS Standard Generator Control for LON Load Sharing. Functions of the 8280-1099 unit include speed control (isochronous & droop), load-sharing control via legacy load-sharing lines, and load-sharing control via LON communication, with up to two tie-breakers.
This unit monitors engine speed via two-speed sensor inputs. These inputs can be either passive or active, using either magnetic pickups (MPUs) or proximity switches. There are four analog inputs available on the 8280-1099, with eight analog input signals defined for this 723PLUS control. Analog input signals include Remote Speed Setpoint (4–20 mA), Load Limiter input (4–20 mA), Reactive Power input, and more.
Along with the analog inputs, this control has 4 analog outputs (19 analog output signals) and 8 discrete inputs (10 discrete input signals). All of these I/Os may be mapped to Modbus addresses, which allows for them to be sent from an external system (DCS or PLC).

This Woodward 723PLUS control has six fuel limiters: Load Limiter input, Fuel Limiter input, Max Actuator, Start Fuel Limiter, Charge Air Pressure Fuel Limiter, and Jump & Rate Limiter. These limiters serve to protect against either overloading or over-fueling.
