About the 8280-338
Part 8280-338 is a low-voltage controller in the 723PLUS Digital Control series. As a low voltage model, this controller's nominal power consumption of 40 watts at 18–40 Vdc (24 or 32 Vdc nominal). There is also a high-voltage version of this controller.
Woodward control 8280-338 can be used for a variety of applications. Its range of functions includes several load-sharing capabilities, and it can handle applications where torsional filtering is required, as its two-speed inputs can support either magnetic pickups (MPUs) or proximity switches. When MPUs are used, the speed input frequency is 400 Hz to 15 kHz. Speed input frequency for proximity switches is 30 Hz to 15 kHz.
Along with the controller’s two-speed inputs, the 8280-338 has eight discrete inputs, three discrete outputs, four analog inputs, and three analog outputs. These discrete and analog I/Os are configurable to suit the needs of each application. The 723PLUS programmable I/Os and set points are managed via a handheld programmer, one of the several Woodward accessories that can be used with this controller. Other accessories include a DSLC for generator load management, and additional input/output control functions via LinkNet nodes.
This 723PLUS model is CSA Certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D (CSA Certificate 2244634), and is CE Compliant.
