About the 8280-339
For applications requiring magnetic pickups (MPUs) or proximity switches, part 8280-339 provides the flexibility of working with either option. For steady-state speed control, the minimum frequency is 30 Hz, though the speed input frequency range does differ between the two-speed sensing methods. The range for MPU is 400 Hz to 15 kHz, while the range for proximity switch is 30 Hz to 15 kHz.
The 8280-339 has several configurable analogs and discrete I/Os. This includes eight discrete inputs, four analog inputs, three discrete outputs, and three analog outputs. The analog I/Os have an accuracy rating of 0.5% of full scale, and a load-sharing input boasts 1.0% of full-scale accuracy. The eight discrete inputs on this controller have a 10 ms ±15% response time.
There are several accessories that can be used with the 8280-339 controller, including Woodward’s Hand Held Programmer (part 9907-205). It’s through this programmer (connected to one of the unit’s serial ports) that the I/Os and set points are configured. The programmer is a menu-driven system, so managing the controller is straightforward even for users without much programming knowledge.
Woodward 723PLUS model 8280-339 is CE Compliant and is CSA Certified for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D (CSA Certificate 2244634).
