The 723 Speed Controls are a Woodward Governor series. There are many variations of the 723 controls, with options to fit a range of applications. The 9907-031 Digital Speed Control is one of the low voltage models (18 to 40 Vdc). A high-voltage (90 to 150 Vdc) version of this control is also available, as are high- and low-voltage versions with a torsional filter (see models 9907-032, 9907-033, and 9907-034 on our site).

The 9907-031 is intended to be used with reciprocating engines in generator set service. The two-speed signal inputs of this digital speed control support proximity switches or MPUs. It is also a DSLC Digital Synchronizer and Load Control compatible unit, offering additional load control features.

723 model 9907-031 has several I/Os, both analog and discrete. Along with the two-speed signal inputs, this controller has eight discrete inputs, four analog inputs, a load-sharing input, and four analog outputs. Two of these analog outputs are 0–1/4–20 mA, the other two are 0–20/0–200 mA.

The 9907-031 is easily programmed and adjusted with the Woodward Hand Held Programmer (sold separately), or any standard ASCII character computer terminal, provided it has an RS-422 serial port.
