About the 8440-1858
Here at AX Control INC, we offer the Woodward easYgen-2000 series from our new surplus or refurbished secondhand inventory. The 8440-1858 control is made up of nearly sixty terminals and each has a specific usage. Terminals twenty-two through twenty-nine are used as mains busbar voltage, under no circumstances can the busbar voltage and main voltages be measured at the same time with this control.
Pertaining to the busbar voltage of the control when inputs are being measured with the busbar windings which are three-phase and four-wire, there are specific terminals to be attached and several of the terminals read at different rated voltages and measuring ranges. Terminals twenty-three, twenty-five, twenty-seven, and twenty-nine have a maximum measuring range of 0 to 600 Vac, the rated voltage range will read at 480 V in a range of 131 to 480 V.
This control can be used with diesel or gasoline engines. The ignition delay of the engine should be in the range of 0-999 seconds but specifically 5 seconds. Before you start the engine you should perform a purging operation. If after there has been an expiration of time and the minimum speed for the ignition has been achieved this indicates that the ignition has been fully energized. Once ignition speed has been achieved then the starter has been separated under many different conditions, the measurement through magnetic pickup has been disengaged and the speed of the ignition has been measured by the generator voltage.
