The 8440-1884 is a Woodward genset controller from the advanced easYgen-2000 series. This series was designed to provide genset control and protection package features to up to 16 gensets in island configuration or a genset and utility in parallel operation. The 8440-1884 has a range of connectivity options that help ensure it can communicate with many existing industrial setups.

Features

The 8440-1884 has several possible operation modes via discrete inputs. These include Auto, Stop, Manual, Load test, and No Load test modes. It also has breaker control capabilities such as monitoring, slip frequency synchronization, phase matching synchronization, and open-close control. As far as load transfer goes for this model, it is capable of interchange, open/closed transition, mains parallel, soft loading and unloading. The 8440-1884 can also use coolant temperature or timer to control warm-up.

The 8440-1884 may be controlled remotely either from the interface or through analog/discrete inputs. The unit can be controlled in aspects such as adjusting power, reactive power, voltage, speed, frequency, and power factor set points. The 8440-1884 supports 11 different languages which are configurable in the unit. The display of this unit is an interactive 128 x 64 dot graphical LC screen with soft keys.
