About the 8440-1798
Control part 8440-1798 is manufactured by Woodward INC and is in the easYgen-300 series. We here at AX Control INC supply this control from our new surplus or refurbished secondhand inventory. The 8440-1798 model requires a minimum power supply voltage of 10.5 Vdc upon initial start-up, once the control has been started the model can operate on a continuous voltage between 6.5 and 32 Vdc.
When operating your 8440-1789 model you can use the LEDs on the control to indicate how the control is operating. There are nine LEDs that will indicate the operation state, when LED twelve is flashing it is indicating that the generator voltage/frequency is not operating within the closure limits of the breaker. If LED thirteen is flashing it indicates that the engine is in operation but the delay time on the engine monitor has yet to expire.
The control also has symbols that can indicate errors within the control, if operating your control and a battery appears it indicates that the battery is performing undervoltage. The control also has alarm messages that can pop up on your control panel, if a class F alarm has been indicated it means that the control will be going into shutdown.
