About the 8440-1964

Part 8440-1964 offers engine-generator control and protection. This genset control model is part of the Woodward easYgen-3200 series. Controllers in the 3200 series are in a plastic housing and have a display. Model 8440-1964 has a power supply that is internally isolated.

Load management features include:

• Emergency power/backup power generation
• Automatic base loading/peak shaving
• Import/export control

There are two available packages in this series, easYgen model 8440-1964 is a P2 package. P2 models have a maximum of 32 each external discrete inputs and outputs via CANopen. External analog inputs via CANopen are maxed at 16 and outputs at 4. Package P2 genset controls have three freely configurable PID controllers.

Configuration of easYgen part 8440-1964 is done through the control’s display. During operation, the display provides direct access to status information. This genset control unit has multi-lingual capabilities, supporting English, Spanish, French, German, and Russian, plus nine more languages.

This unit has four application modes.

• None – no breaker control
• GCBopen – GCB control (open)
• GCB – GCB control (open/close)
• GCB/MCB – GCB/MCB control (open/close)
