About the 8440-1974
The easYgen model 8440-1974 is designed for load management and control of up to 32 connected gensets. A few key features include load-dependent start/stop, emergency power, and automatic base loading/peak shaving. This genset control is part of the easYgen-3000 series by Woodward.
As one of the 3100 models in the series, this unit comes with metal housing and without a display. Part 8440-1974 must be configured remotely using ToolKit software. In place of a display, functional status is directly indicated by two LEDs on the front plate of the unit. There are seven possible states indicated by the LEDs, including the presence of an alarm.
Part 8440-1974 has four application modes: None (no breaker control), GCB control (open), GCB control (open/close), and GCB/MCB control (open/close). Among other protections, this easYgen model safeguards against over-/under speed conditions, over-/under voltage, unbalanced voltage, speed and frequency mismatch, and auxiliary excitation. Voltage, speed, frequency, reactive power, and trip levels/delays are just a few of the configurable set points.
Part 8440-1974 is a P2 package (there are two packages available in the easYgen-3000 series). P2 models have three freely configurable PID controllers and a maximum of:
- 32 external discrete inputs and outputs via CANopen
- 16 external analog inputs via CANopen
- 4 external analog outputs via CANopen
