About the 8440-2010

The adaptability of this genset control allows it to be used for a variety of applications, including load management for up to 32 genset units. Part 8440-2010 has both discrete and analog I/Os that are freely configurable. It has many configurable set points, including but not limited to

• Trip levels/delays
• Frequency
• Speed
• alarm classes
• voltage
• power factor
• reactive power

This control was manufactured by Woodward in their easYgen-3000 series. Genset controls in the easYgen series provide an extensive set of features for monitoring and managing the connected genset units. Along with the load management features, 8440-2010 has true r.m.s. current sensing, warm-up control (accomplished via coolant temperature or timer), multi-level password protection, engine start/stop logic (diesel and gas engines), and a built-in HMI.

The 8440-2010’s built-in operator interface includes a display (5.7” LCD) and soft keys. Four access levels ensure modifications are only made by authorized personnel. This genset unit has an event recorder (300 events, FIFO) with a battery-backed real-time clock. Events, alarms, set points, and operation status information are all accessed through this front panel.

The easYgen model 8440-2010 has a 12/24 Vdc power supply. The genset control has an IP 20 protection system and a Class 1 accuracy rating. Full product specs may be found in easYgen-3000 manual 37258.
