With control functions such as load sharing, breaker control logic, AMF (auto mains failure) and stand-by operation, and single or multiple unit operations for up to 32 genset units, part 8440-2052 is optimized for use in a variety of applications. This genset control unit is part of the easYgen-3000 series by Woodward.

Part 8440-2052 is a 3200-P2 model. As a 3200 model, this control has a built-in operator interface on the front panel of the unit’s plastic housing. Package 2 (P2) models come with an additional control feature of three PID controllers, which are freely configurable. It has 5A CT inputs and is designed for front panel mounting. Part 8440-2052 has a 12/24 VDC (8 to 40 VDC) power supply.

easYgen model 8440-2052 measures speed input using magnetic / switching pickup, with a 50/60 Hz (40 to 85 Hz) measuring frequency. Speed, frequency, voltage, power factor, excitation, and many more setpoints may be configured for maximum generator, engine, and mains protection. There are 12 discrete alarm outputs, 10 of which are configurable.

Configuration may be done via PC (using ToolKit software) or directly through the control unit itself using the built-in HMI. This operator interface has a keypad, and a color LCD, and access may be managed with the multi-level password protection capabilities of the 8440-2052 model.
