About the 8440-2056

The 8440-2056 genset control unit is in the easYgen-3000 series. This model is one of the 3100 versions, so it does not have a direct, built-in HMI. It is intended for the cabinet back mounting, with programming, monitoring, and control features accessed via PC (ToolKit software). This particular model has 5A CT inputs and three PID controllers (freely configurable). Part 8440-2056 is in a metal housing.

Genset control units in this Woodward series are designed for use in either single or multiple unit operations. In multiple unit operations, up to 32 gensets can be connected with automatic sequencing. Many load management features are supported for the connected units, such as load-dependent start/stop, mains parallel operation, open/closed transition, and more.

Control functions of models 8440-2056 are highly customizable to suit the needs of various applications. There are four operating modes available: Automatic, Manual, Stop, and Test (Load/No Load). Manual breaker control is accomplished through the configuration of the voltage/frequency controls. 8440-2056 can record up to 300 events with its real-time clock event recorder. It has counters for operating hours, starts, maintenance, etc; and it supports start/stop logic for both diesel and gas engines.
