EPG speed control model from the manufacturer Woodward is product 8290-029. This model can be combined with an actuator and magnetic pickup to be used with turbines powered by diesel and gas. This unit is powered by a 12-volt battery supply. Model 8290-029 must be used with 2500 Load Sensors or it will not be able to function properly. This product can be used with a parallel generator as well. It can be used on prime movers without the need for a hydraulic oil supply or a mechanical drive. Just like the other products from this Woodward series, this speed control device is compliant with EU Directive.

When using the full EPG system, the maximum actuator position can be acquired by using the optional start fuel limit. Clockwise and counterclockwise rotation can be used. Model 8290-029 can be used in temperatures that range from -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit. The device should be mounted near the battery and actuator, in an area that allows for adequate ventilation. This product has been discontinued by Woodward, but can be bought or sold through AX Control. AX Control also offers repairs with a three-year warranty.
