A speed control device from the Woodward series Electrically Powered Governor is speed control device 8290-050. Adding it to a magnetic pickup and actuator will create a complete EPG system. This product is an isochronous speed control device and it is made to be used with gas or diesel-powered turbines. It is capable of being mounted directly onto the prime mover as long as it has plenty of air circulation and is kept away from high-heat devices. The product should only be cooled off with natural circulation, and should not be installed near the exhaust or similar devices.

• A speed range of 1500 to 3000 Hz.
• Powered by a 12-volt battery.
• Compatible with actuator models 8256-022 and 8256-017.
• Operating temperature of -40 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Compatible with 12AWG and 14AWG wires.

The speed control product should be mounted in a covered area to protect it from the weather and other moving devices. Installing it near the battery and actuator will make sure the wires can properly reach. Even though Woodward has discontinued model 8290-050, it can still be found through AX Control. This speed control device can be bought, sold, and even repaired with AX Control. Repairs come with a three-year warranty.
