About the 5466-1000
MicroNet Digital Controller module 5466-1000 is a Power Supply unit that when connected will occupy up to two slots. The controller can be programmed into a number of different applications to control hydro/gas/steam turbines plus gas/diesel engines. This unit will be used with MicroNet-Plus models that feature simplex or redundant CPUs. The 5466-1000 module is one of the SIL Approved MicroNet-Plus units that can be used with a “kitted” safety system.
The front faceplate of the 5466-1000 unit has up to three RS-485 ports and a fault indicator that will light up red if there is an I/O lock. There are two ways in which the LED will light up, flashing or solid, when the LED is solid it indicates an error between the CPU and actuator and they are not communicating properly; when the LED is flashing it indicates that an internal problem is occurring and it is recommended that the 5466-1000 model replaced.
Since the 5466-1000 module is a power supply module when installing a new unit ensure that all of the edges of the circuit board are completely aligned and slowly push the unit into the slots until the connectors on the motherboard and modules make contact with each other. Another vital note is that the power to the supply must be disconnected before the module is installed.
