About the 5466-1047
Unit 5466-1047 is a MicroNet Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) controller designed by Woodward Inc. The MicroNet TMR controllers, such as this, are used to protect and control gas and steam turbines as well as compressor trains that have potential safety risks. This unit is the most preferred TMR module which means that it is the newest module and is primarily used in newer system installations. This model has enhanced and open architecture and diagnostic coverage which come together to allow for 99.999% reliability and availability.
Because of the enhanced and more open architecture that the 5466-1047 unit has it can effortlessly interface with distributed I/O devices to allow for control servicing and programming and system operation, plus it allows for the interfacing of HMIs and plant DCS's. This unit supports many protocols such as printer drivers/modems/data loggers, Ethernet TCP/IP and UDP, Modbus (Ethernet or Serial), and OLE for Process Control (OPC).
When the GAP programming language and TMR operating system work together the two can produce a powerful control environment that is used for the protection and control of a variety of compressors and industrial turbines. The 5466-1047 model also has an expandable capability which allows for an extra eight to fourteen-slot expansion if a larger system is going to be used.
