About the 5466-1145
The 5466-1145 unit was designed by Woodward as a MicroNet Plus CPU5200 unit to be used in a redundant or simplex control system. Devices such as this were designed to be used with diesel/gas engine controls, compressor controls, gas/steam turbines, and hydro turbine controllers. The MicroNet Plus devices are VME-based expandable control systems that use simplex or redundant CPU and power supplies that can be used with a variety of input/output model choices. The different types of I/O module choices can be customized to complement the customer's requirements.
The CPU unit on the 5466-1145, CPU5200, is the base CPU model of the MicroNet series and can support redundant CAN and Ethernet communications, optional secure applications, and can also support up to eight chassis for I/O intensive applications. There are two available chassis options that will accommodate different space requirements, either chassis size, which is full-size and narrow, and reserve four slots for the redundant power supplies.
One of the crucial features of the 5466-1145 model is that even if it requires a large amount of I/O, the MicroNet Plus chassis can communicate with up to seven more MicroNet Plus chassis expansions. If needed fiber-optic cables and switches can also be used for communications between the expansion and main chassis if needed.
