About the 5466-1245
The 5466-1245 module is a Cyber Read CPU5200 with Enhanced Performance. This module is specifically designed as a MicroNet-Plus module that can be used in Simplex or Redundant I/O modules. According to the 26166V1 manual when this unit is being used redundantly two CPUs must be used, they can be CPU5200 or CPU5200L modules when inserted into the chassis they will be in the first and last VME slots, which are labeled as A1 and A8/A14 respectively. There is a single motherboard for the chassis that can also house twelve I/O slots, two CPUs, and two power supplies.
As mentioned above when the 5466-1245 unit is being used redundantly two CPUs are necessary, the first CPU in the chassis is used to gain control of the I/O modules and is referred to as the SYSCON or System Controller. The second CPU in the chassis is the standby/backup CPU which will receive the necessary stat information from the SYSCON, having this occur allows for the backup CPU to take control if the SYSCON fails. There are several examples of SYSCON failure which are as follows:
-
An application stop
-
Failure of the onboard CPU power supplies
-
A reset of the SYSCON CPU
-
Failure of the processor core
-
An application requested failover
When operating the 5466-1245 module the best manuals to use are the 26166V1, 26166V2, and 26166V3 manuals. The 26166V1 manual details information about the CPU5200, while the 26166V2 and 26166V3 manuals give more general information and specifications.
