About the 5466-1246
The 5466-1246 module is a MicroNet Plus Real-Time Network Cyber Ready Enhanced Performance unit. This specific module will not be located in the main rack of the chosen chassis but rather in the expansion rack. The primary operating function of this module is to compile data from local I/O modules and relay the data to the CPUs in the main rack while also ensuring that the failover control of the rack is receiving redundant signals.
Some features of the 5466-1246 module are the service port, two Real-Time Network ports, 64 MB of flash memory, 128 MB of DDR RAM, and a Motorola MPC5200 processor. This module also has the capability to be operated in both redundant and simplex systems. Please note that when this module is being operated in a redundant system up to two remote RTN modules can be installed into each chosen expansion chassis. The RTN can be initialized to either standby or SYSCON status, the RTN module that is labeled as SYSCON will control the expansion chassis that it has been mounted.
Another feature of the 5466-1246 module is that it can expand to a maximum eight-rack system by using both copper/fiber optic ethernet switches and Remote RTN modules. This module has several standards that it meets, these standards are as follows, CSA, ATEX, DNV, LRS, ABS, and CE (EMC). One important factor to consider if you are deciding to reset this module is that when resetting the RTN it will potentially create a HealthFault and will immediately turn the WATCHDOG LED red.
