About the 5501-370
Produced by Woodward Inc as part of the MicroNet Digital Controller series board 5501-370 is a 5009/MicroNet TMR Power Supply that operates at twenty-four volts of direct current. When inserted the main chassis for this board will be the TMR Power Supply Chassis, typically up to two redundant power supply modules will be used per chassis. This module will also be connected to a Kernel power supply module and this board will provide the power to the Kernel unit.
The 5501-370 board will run on redundant power supplies and has the capability to share circuitry to allow for balances, these balances will improve the reliability of the power supply as well as reduce heat. One primary feature of this board is the ability to be replaced hot without interrupting the operating system of the control. This board has specific wiring installations that are required if being used with AC applications. Please note that the power supplies on the control do not have any type of power switch, due to this a multitude of ways to disconnect power from each of the main power sources so servicing and installation can occur seamlessly.
The 5501-370 board has four main LEDs which are as follows, power supply fault, OK LED, overtemperature, and input fault. Each individual LED has a different description and function, the main function of the power supply fault LED is to indicate when one of the four main power converters has shut down or failed, when one of them has shut down it will light up red. To fix this problem remove the short circuit, once the circuit is removed the supply will function as normal.
