About the 9905-858
Overview
The Woodward 9905-858 is a digital steam turbine control in the Peak 150 series. Models in this series were designed with use for single-valve and single-valve rack turbines in mind. This model is designed as a compact, low-cost steam turbine control when compared to standard models on the market. This model uses AC/DC power input and has a NEMA 4 dust and water-tight enclosure.
Control Features
The 9905-858 has all the standard features of the Peak 150 series. Some of these features include the magnetic pickups, remote speed setting signal, and discrete inputs. The 2 magnetic pickups allow the 9905-858 to detect the teeth of the gears and generate a speed signal in turbine RPM. The remote speed setting signal input allows the unit to have things such as a process-generated input control the speed. The discrete inputs can be used when connected to a 5-28VDC power supply. The inputs themselves are: start, reset, raise, lower, trip, idle/min gov, overspeed test/select hi dyn, and remote speed enable.
Technical Specifications
The contact ratings for the relays are 2A resistive at 28VDC, 0.3A resistive at 115VAC (60-400Hz), and 0.75A inductive at 28VDC. The two magnetic pickups are identical and high-signal-selected with a minimum input voltage of 1 Vrms and frequency range between 200Hz and 15kHz. The motor of this unit is NEMA D rated.
