Overview
Woodward's 9905-861 is a Peak 150 series steam turbine digital control. This unit is a low-cost, low-profile control with many important features that an operator would look for. The 9905-861 has Modbus protocol support, meaning that it can communicate with certain existing industrial devices such as PLCs or DCSs. NEMA 4 rated protection means that the unit is dust and water-tight, allowing it to operate in a wide array of industrial environments. This unit uses AC/DC power input.
Operational Features
The 9905-861 has all the standard features of the Peak 150 series. The front panel of this unit has 6 keypad switches to allow for direct, manual control in addition to its remote capabilities. In that regard, the 9905-861 has an analog remote speed setting signal input which is compatible with either 4-20mA or 1-5VDC and is selectable via an internal jumper. Turbine speed can be increased from idle to minimum governor speed either automatically or manually by using the front panel or remote commands.

The 9905-861 takes a power input of 90-150VDC/88-132VAC (47-63Hz) and consumes a maximum of 38 watts of power. This unit has been designed to be in conformity to standards like US MIL-STD-810D Method 507.2, US MIL-STD-167 Type 1, and US MIL-STD-810C Method 516.2. These standards are in regards to humidity, vibration, and shock limits respectively.
