About the 9905-866
Introduction
The 9905-866 is a Woodward Peak 150 series digital control for steam turbines. This model comes with Modbus protocol support, allowing it to communicate with other compatible devices, such as DCSs or PLCs. This model also comes in a rugged NEMA 4X enclosure which was designed to resist corrosion from especially harsh industrial settings. This is the 24VDC version of this model.
Unit Features
Features of the 9905-866 include things such as dual speed control dynamics, overspeed trip testing, and critical speed avoidance. The two speed dynamics sets of the 9905-866 are a low speed gain and reset and a high speed gain and reset. The overspeed trip test will trip the system if the speed is detected to be over the overspeed level when the test button is released. A critical speed band can be defined by the user. When the 9905-866 detects that the speed is within this critical band, the speed will move at a user-defined rate and can not be stopped, but can be reversed from raising to lowering.
Additional Information
The 9905-866 should be kept at temperatures between -25°C and 50°C during operation and -40°C and 85°C when in storage. The 9905-866 also has 3 speed reference operating modes that the user can choose from when using the handheld programmer to set up the device. Manual, Remote, or Combination speed set modes can be used to change the speed reference of your particular unit.
