About the 8235-339
Woodward ProAct and ProAct Plus Integrated Speed Control (PISC) Integrated Throttle Body model 8235-339 is an electrically actuated butterfly valve that will control a variety of flow outputs. This model is designed to be used with a model II PISC actuator, the model II actuator was specifically designed to mount on the valve flange. When powering the PISC it has a voltage range of 18 to 32 VDC, and the current capacity regarding model II is 15 A. When the model has been fused please note that it should have a 15 A fast blow.
There are a variety of different torques regarding the different PISC models. As the 8235-339 model must be used with a model II actuator the following torques and currents are what is needed for the mode to operate properly; the steady state (or continuous) torque of the PISC II model is 2.6 N.m or 23 lb-in with a transient torque of 46 lb-in. The steady-state current of the model is 6A.
The 8235-339 unit could potentially have oscillating problems if this occurs when the engine oscillates when cold and then stabilizes when warm it is integral to ensure that the proper idle dynamics have been set. To fix this problem rotate the selected dynamics gain potentiometer if you are attempting to maintain stability rotate the pot slightly clockwise until stabilized.
If you require more information on the 8235-339 model please refer to the following Woodward manuals; 25182, 24246, and 26265.
