About the 8404-203
The 8404-203 model is a ProAct Integrated Speed Control (PISC). It is the first of the PISC models. When the model is being mounted it will be mounted on the valve flange and requires four M8 screws for proper mounting. The screws should be torqued and when done so it should be 200 lb-in. When the PISC model is being grounded it should be grounded to the engine structure, to ensure that no errors occur ground the unit through a low-impedance connection to ensure proper EMC performance.
The 8404-203 model will operate on a voltage source of eighteen to thirty-two volts of direct current but requires a specific current capacity. The current capacity in relation to the 8404-203 model is 5 A. When the model and its engine are being started the starting voltage will be at a minimum of eight but can go as high as 40 V within the first minute.
Please note that the input power on this device must be fused, if not fused at a 5 A fast blow, under extraordinary circumstances failure to fuse the PISC model could result in an explosion, damage to the control valve, or lead to personal injury.
During the operation and installation of the 8404-203 model, the best manual to use is the ProAct ISC Integrated Speed Control Actuator Models 26246 User’s Guide. This manual contains all of the information needed regarding the PISC I model.
