About the 8404-204
Woodward model 8404-204, is a PISC II model that was designed for the ProAct and ProAct Plus Actuator and Driver series. Like the previous model, the PISC I, this model can also be base-mounted or valve flange-mounted. This unit has the capability to be mounted in any attitude but still requires M8 screws to be torqued to 200 lb-in.
8404-204, PISC model II, operates on a voltage source of eighteen to thirty-two volts of direct current. The power supply is the same as all of the other PISC models but operates on a different current capacity. The current capacity of this model is 15 A. Please advise that if a battery is being used as the operating power source, a battery-charging device or an alternator is required to maintain a steady supply voltage. When wiring the 8404-204 model take caution so as to avoid any potential hazards such as shock or potential overheating.
The 8404-204 model is used with the following PISC ITB models, 8235-305, 8235-198. 835-361, 8235-337, and 8235-339. When the model is at a low voltage, the ProAct ISC will not meet the maximum torque output or the transient response times. The transient start time for this model will be in the range of 8-40 V, this start time will last for about a minute.
