About the 8404-214
The 8404-214 is the fourth and final ProAct Integrated Speed Control model, as part of the ProAct and ProAct Plus Actuator and Driver series. This model can only be mounted in the base configuration due to its size, when being mounted in the base-mount configuration the use of four M8x1.25 screws is required, the screws should have a minimum engagement of sixteen millimeters. When mounted the screw should be torqued at a minimum of two hundred pounds per inch.
All input and output signals on the 8404-214 model run on a 24-pin connector. Information regarding the descriptions of the pins and all of their electrical requirements can be found in chapter four of the 26246 manual produced by Woodward for the ProAct ISC Integrated Speed Control Actuator Models I through IV. Please note that when you are wiring this model individually shield-twisted pairings are essential as indicated in Figure 2-2 diagram of the 26246 manual. Be advised that wires exposed beyond the shield must be as short as possible, and no longer than two inches.
As the final PISC model, 8404-214 the model requires a larger current capacity as well as power transients and current transients. When operating this model please continuously refer to the manual to ensure that the actuator is operating as required. If any hazards or errors occur it can cause potential damage as well as a possible explosion, and damage to the control valve.
