About the 8237-1368

Product model 8237-1368 is an over speed detection module from the Woodward ProTech-GII series. It works to shut down hydro, steam, and gas turbines that over accelerate. In addition to acceleration detection, this product also utilizes MPU detection. It is resistant to sulfur contamination and is classified by international standard IEC 721-3-3 1994. It can be used in Class 3C2 environments and is resistant to SO2 and H2S gases. Model 8237-1368 is configured to run automatic routine over-speed tests. This is done with an internal frequency powered by a generator.

The panel mount is an independent relay device with a high voltage power input. It has a speed readout of 4 to 20 mA. Model 8237-1368 weighs 23 pounds or less and has vibration resistance of 10 to 500 Hz. It can be stored in temperatures from -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit and should be operated in temperatures from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Product 8237-1368 is designed to be easily integrated into any turbine safety system. It uses individual alarm relays. This over speed protection model has been discontinued by Woodward, but can still be found through AX Control. AX Control is able to buy and sell, as well as repair, this product.
