About the 8237-1660
Product 8237-1660 is a triple modular turbine safety device that is part of the Protech-GII series from Woodward. This device accurately detects unsafe over acceleration events in any size turbine and immediately shuts down the entire system. It can be configured to work with turbines powered by steam, gas, and water. They can fit into nearly any cabinet, and have an IP56 enclosure type. Model 8237-1660 has high and low voltage inputs, both at 30 W per module. The high input voltage is 90 to 264 Vac, while the low input voltage is 18 to 32 Vdc. This product can be stored in temperatures from -4 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit, and operated in temperatures between -4 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Model 8237-1660 weighs 22 pounds or less and is 445 mm long. It also has a vibration resistance of 10 to 500 Hz and a display of just over four inches. They are made with two out of three rated architecture and store the results of routine acceleration tests. It uses triple module redundant systems to accurately detect speed. These turbine safety systems came with a three-year warranty, but they have been discontinued by Woodward. AX Control Inc. is able to buy, sell, and repair this model.
