About the 8440-1026
Unit 8440-1026, manufactured by Woodward, was manufactured as part of the SPM-D21/PSVX Synchronizer. SPM synchronizers are built to be integrated into industrial generator units that are three-phase, alternating current units, already outfitted with a speed control unit and a voltage regulator. These two components are not required that they be Woodward models, just that the setup and installation methods be similar.
The 8440-1026 is equipped with an array of operational features by featuring microprocessor technology which allows for reliable and flexible operation. The SPM-D21 models, such as this one provide automatic frequencies as well as voltage and phase matching which are used by the controller's analog or discrete output signals.
It is crucial to note that when using your controller as a synchronizer with GCB and MCB operation the synchronization will occur separately. Potentially synchronizing the GCB and MCB at the same time risks the controller being non-operational. The SPM-D21/PSVX series models are equipped with two control breakers as well as dead bus operation; if your controller has gone into dead bus operation the GCB or MCB will have closed on demand.
The mains parallel operation provides the unit with real power control, as well as true RMS power calculations. The isolated operation for this unit provides both voltage and frequency control.
