About the EA7-S6M
The Automation Direct EA7-S6M is a 5.7 inch human-machine interface touch panel display. A member of the C-more EA7 series, this display houses a 32-bit RISC CPU for a more precise machine interface system. The internal CPU allows users to upload and download files when an Ethernet or USB connection is available. A grayscale panel capable of displaying 15 shades of gray, this 320x240 pixel display features an STN LCD style analog resistive touch screen designed with a user interface in mind. The panel requires 24VDC to operate, so an AC/DC power adapter allows power to be drawn from a 100-240VAC 50/60Hz source. This panel is designed for use with Automation Direct software.
Various I/O capabilities are integrated into the full-featured EA7-S6M. A USB A drive offers users a device input port while the USB B port allows the user to program and download information directly to the panel. An Ethernet port with a standard 10/100 Base-T connection is also available for data transfers. One audio out line requires an external amplifier and speaker(s), but can be used to relay messages and alerts to the appropriate source. An optional CompactFlash port can be used for expanded file storage space. As EA7-S6M features a smaller screen, it measures 6.140in (H) x 8.047in (W) x 1.697in (D) and weighs 1.5 pounds.
Housing a number of I/O ports, EA7-S6M offers easy user interfaces. Single-switch uploads/downloads is available as well as computer simulation capabilities. Computer simulation allows for remote access of the panel with the ability to see both displayed screens and background screens. Nine languages (Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, English, Korean, Spanish, Thai) can be displayed on the panel as well.
Following proper storage and operational guidelines will prolong the longevity and integrity of the device. When operating, ambient temperatures should fall no lower than 0℃, or 32℉ and raise no higher than 50℃, or 122℉. Should the device be placed in storage, temperatures can range from -20℃ to 60℃, or -4℉ to 140℉. Technical support for this HMI display was originally offered from Automation Direct and the corresponding user guides. Be sure to refer to the EA7-S6M datasheet and user manual for all installation and safety parameters.
