About the F4-04AD-1
When properly configured, this 24VDC DirectLogic Analog Input module is a direct replacement for the D4-04AD modules. Due to the removable terminal design of this device, the module can be removed or swapped without disconnecting the wiring. The DL405 Analog I/O Modules D4–ANLG–M manual has a section that runs through everything you need to know about replacing a D4-04AD model with an F4-04AD input module.
Each F4-04AD module has 4 individually configurable channels. There is a range selected for all four channels, but each one can be wired for single-ended or differential voltage, or for current. In applications using current input, the unit offers broken transmitter detection. Possible input ranges are 0–5 V, 0–10 V, 1–5 V, ±5V, ±10V, 0–20 mA, and 4–20 mA. These four inputs are optically isolated from PLC logic components and can all be read by one CPU scan (DL440/450 CPUs only).
Each channel of the DL06 F4-04AD-1 analog input module has 250-ohm resistance. This is suitable for transmitter load requirements of 250 ohms or less, but if your transmitter requires a higher load resistance, an additional resistor needs to be added in series.
LEDs on the face of the F4-04AD module indicate diagnostic information as well as information for each channel. There are status indicator LEDs for power supply, jumper configuration, negative voltage or current input, and internal diagnostics.
