About the D2-240

D2-240 is a central processing unit (CPU) module manufactured by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. This device is one of a series of modules developed to interface with programmable logic controllers from the DirectLogic 205 series. 2.5K of EEPROM program memory is integrated into the CPU module. A V-memory system provides the device with additional memory for critical storage data. System capacity of the module is capable of supporting 3.8K words with exactly 2560 EEPROM of ladder memory.

The module supports a powerful set of data instructions, capable of supporting a number of applications. The supported instructions include, but are not limited to, Boolean logic, data manipulation, FOR/NEXT loops, and integer math capabilities. Dual communication ports are featured prominently on the front plate of the drive, including two RS-232 communications ports. The second port can function as a phone jack connection in addition to the RS-232. A mode switch allows the user to select if the CPU is placed in run mode or if the peripheral device selects the operation mode. The front plate of the D2-240 is completed with four indicator LED lights, presenting RUN, BATT, CPU, and PWR status.
