About the D2-250
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo D2-250 is a central processing unit (CPU) module. It is one of a series of modules created to support the DirectLogic 205 series of programmable logic controllers. As a whole, the module offers 14.8K words of total available system memory. An integrated 7680-word Flash program ladder memory is featured on the module. Additional memory for critical storage data is found in the form of V-memory, capable of holding up to 2048 words.
The D2-250-1 module, which is a higher module of the D2-250 unit, can support over 200 complex instructions. Examples of instructions for the module are drum sequencers, floating point conversions, and bits of word manipulation. The top of the module features four LED status indicators, including RUN, BATT, CPU, and PWR. Directly below is a mode switch, allowing the user to select RUN, TERM, and STOP. Two ports follow, with Port 1 supporting RS-232C and Port 2 supporting RS-232C/422. DirectSOFT version 2.1 or higher is required on the logic controller when programming the module.
There are many specifications required when using the D2-250 module. Some specifications include the step bias, bumpless transfer I and II, set point limits, and more. The set point limits on this model designate the minimum and maximum setpoint values. The step bias will indicate that there will be proportional bias adjustments provided for large setpoint changes. For more information and to maintain the integrity of D2-250, follow all outlined installation and storage parameters in the associated Automation Direct documentation. Charts depicting device wiring and installation guidelines can be found in the DirectLogic 205 series manual.
