About the F2-8AD4DA-2
The F2-8AD4DA-2 is an Analog Combo Module created by Direct Logic. This part may have also been distributed under the Facts Engineering name depending on what year it was manufactured.
The F2-8AD4DA-2 is an 8-channel in/4 channel out Analog Current Voltage Combination Unit. It was created for the DL205 PLC Series by Direct Logic. This unit comes with several basic hardware features including but not limited to having a removable terminal block, only requiring one scan to update all input and output channels, having inputs and outputs separated electrically, and being able to select the input resolution. Input resolution can be changed between 12-bit, 14-bit, or 16-bit. Output resolution is only 16 bit.
The F2-8AD4DA-2 needs 32 discrete input and output points each. These points can be used to gather information about what channels are active on the device, any diagnostic information for the module, and the digital representation of the analog signal. These bit technically aren’t a necessary function, but users may find that they are helpful to the understanding of the data format. This module should be installed in a non-CPU slot.
The F2-8AD4DA-2 has Special V-Memory locations that are assigned to each base slot. This setup simplifies the programming requirements needed for this module. The locations will determine how many input and output channels need to be scanned, the resolution of the inputs, the storage location of input and output data, and it specifies where the selections for the inputs can be tracked and held.
