About the T1F-14THM
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo T1F-14THM is a thermocouple input module. This fourteen channel device is a member of the Terminator I/O series of modules. Products of this series have the capability of interfacing with a number of other modules and logic controllers. All fourteen channels are differential, with each input terminating alone. Incoming temperature signals are converted into ℉ or ℃, with no extra scaling required. The module’s 16-bit resolution ensures that all conversions are precise, with a typical linearity error of only ±0.1℃.
Incoming voltages and data should be monitored to protect the integrity of the device. T1F-14THM features two input voltage ratings, 0 to 5 V ±5V and 0 to 156.25 mA ±156.25 mVDC. All fourteen points on the module feature a fault protected input, allowing an absolute maximum rating of ±50 VDC. The module is compatible with a number of temperature input types. Acceptable ranges include: J, E, K, R, S, T, B, N, and C. Each range features a different set of readable temperatures, with some able to measure as low as -230℃, or -382℉, and others able to read as high as 2320℃, or 4208℉. An automatic cold junction compensation (CJC) is included with the module, but it must be installed at the terminal base. Before installation, purchase the correct mounting base for the module, sold separately.
Following the outlined storage and installation parameters will prevent damage to T1F-14THM. Though capable of monitoring extreme temperatures, ambient temperatures surrounding the module should be closely monitored. When operating, temperatures around the device can safely range from 0℃ to 60℃, or 32℉ to 140℉. When not in use, the storage environment should still be regulated. Acceptable storage temperatures range as low as -20℃, or -4℉, and as high as 70℃, or 158℉. A complete wiring and installation guide is available in the series manual and the device datasheet. The manufacturers provided original technical support for the module.
