About the T1F-16RTD
T1F-16RTD is a resistance temperature detector (RTD) input module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. This sixteen channel module is a member of the Terminator I/O series of devices. Units from this series are capable of communicating with an array of controllers, modules, and other devices. Inputted temperature data displays as either ℉ or ℃ and features a resolution of ±0.1℃. Readings are precise and do not require any user calculations.
Monitoring incoming voltages and currents help to prevent the circuit from overloading. T1F-16RTD has a base power requirement of 150 mA (maximum), 5 VDC that must be met. The common mode range of the RTD module falls between 0 and 5 VDC, with an absolute maximum rating of ±50 VDC. The module is capable of inputting six different ranges of temperatures, dependent upon the user’s selection. Included ranges for the RTD module are Pt100, Pt1000, jPt100, Type CU - 10, Type CU - 25, and 120 Ω Nickel. Each input type supports varying temperature ranges, with some capable of reading as low as -200℃, or -328℉, and others as high as 850℃, or 1562℉. Before installing the device, be sure to purchase the separately sold mounting base.
Device damage is preventable by following all storage and installation parameters. Though the device is capable of reading a wide range of temperatures, T1F-16RTD is not designed to operate in extreme environments. While operating the module, ambient temperatures should maintain between 32℉ and 140℉, or 0℃ and 60℃. Should the device be placed in storage, acceptable temperatures can range as low as -4℉, or -20℃, and as high as 158℉, or 70℃. Refer to the user manual and datasheet for a comprehensive guide to wiring and installing the module. The manufacturers provided all original technical support for this device.
