About the F3-04ADS
The Automation Direct Facts Engineering Koyo F3-04ADS is an isolated analog input module. This four channel device is a member of the DirectLogic 305 series, compatible with a number of DL305 programmable logic controllers. Each channel is isolated and differential, allowing the user to select the input type needed per channel. The module allows the user to select from analog voltage and analog current, depending upon the user’s needs. Inputted data is converted from analog signals into a digital medium using the module’s 12-bit resolution. This keeps data precise as it is digested by the controlling PLC.
Monitoring incoming voltages and currents will protect the circuits from becoming overloaded. Each channel can input a few different ranges, including 0 to 5 V and 0 to 10 V ±5V, ±10V for analog voltage and 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA for analog current. F3-04ADS allows for all channels of the module to be individually configured to match user need. Factory settings place all channels in the 4-20 mA input range. Should a different range be required, jumpers located on the module allow the user to select individual input types for all channels. When installing the module, it is designed for slots on the PLC configured for 16 point modules.
Following all installation and storage parameters will ensure the longevity of F3-04ADS. When operating, maintaining facility temperatures will prevent device degradation. Ambient temperatures can safely range from 32℉ to 140℉, or 0℃ to 60℃. When the device is not in use and placed in storage, the climate of the facility must also be monitored. Acceptable temperatures range as low as -4℉, or -20℃, and as high as 158℉, or 70℃. A complete guide to installation and wiring is available in the user manual and device datasheet.
