About the F3-04DA-1
F3-04DA-1 is an analog output module designed by Automation Direct, Koyo, and Facts Engineering. A four channel device, this module is a member of the DirectLogic 305 series. It can interface with a number of DL 305 programmable logic controllers and accepted peripheral devices. The module can output analog voltage and analog current signals, depending on the need of the user. All four of the channels terminate into a single common, though each channel can be individually configured. Outputted data is converted into either analog voltage or current signals using the integrated 12-bit resolution.
Incoming and outgoing currents and voltages should be monitored to prevent F3-04DA-1 from overloading. As two signal types are supported, multiple output ranges are available. Included ranges are 0 to 5 V and 0 to 10 V for analog voltage, and 4 to 12 mA and 4 to 20 mA for analog current. The modules are set to 0-10V at the factory, but can easily be changed. Jumpers on the device allow the user to select the desired output range if it needs to be changed. Output currents from the device generally measure at 5 mA source or 2.5 mA sink. The module is configured to fit into any 16 point slot on the PLC.
The integrity of the device can be preserved by following all installation and storage parameters. Ambient temperatures of the operating facility should be monitored when F3-04DA-1 is in use. Temperatures can safely fall to 0℃, or 32℉, and raise to 60℃, or 140℉. Storage temperatures offer more variation, with acceptable ranges measuring from -20℃ to 70℃, or -4℉ to 158℉.
