About the F3-08AD-1
F3-08AD-1 is an analog input module developed by Automation Direct, Facts Engineering, and Koyo. This eight channel device is a member of the DirectLogic 305 series. Parts from this series are able to communicate with a number of programmable logic controllers and other peripheral devices. All eight of the channels on the module terminate into a single common. Incoming data to the module is converted into digital signals using the integrated 12-bit resolution.
Voltages and currents running through the module should be monitored to prevent F3-08AD-1 from overloading. Each channel on the module is capable of inputting 4 to 20 mA of analog current. Each channel can sustain an absolute maximum rating of ±40 mA. To activate all channels, use the jumpers on the module to select the desired number of active channels. Once ready to install the module, be sure to properly mount it into the PLC. The device is designed to fit into a sixteen channel port, so be sure to install it into the correct slot on the controller.
Follow all outlined installation and storage parameters to protect the F3-08AD-1. Ambient temperatures of the housing facility should be monitored to maintain safe levels. When operating, acceptable temperatures can range from 0℃ to 60℃, or 32℉ to 140℉. Should the device be placed in storage, temperatures can safely fall to -4℃, or -20℉, and can raise to 70℃, or 158℉. All wiring and installation guides can be found in the device manual and datasheet. Facts Engineering and Automation Direct provided original technical support for this module.
